The year is 1915. The world is plunged into chaos at the dawn of World War 1. Battles are being fought on many fronts, with both sides winning and losing. But there was one front where the battle was as lopsided as it was horrific. It was a slaughter. A genocide. Avedik Mekhdjian, an Armenian living in the Ottoman Empire, is one of many young men to join the nation's military. He soon realizes the Ottoman Empire's plan for the Armenians and other ethnic minorities: perish in intense, unforgiving labor, die from hunger, thirst, and exhaustion in death marches, or just be executed.
