Since his astonishing debut in 1974 on the Three Blind Mice label, Japanese pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto has been a household name among jazz fans and audiophile music lovers around the world. Together with his trio, which also includes Hiroshi Kagawa (bass) and Hisao Osumi (drums), he has enjoyed a career spanning four decades. This recording was made on November 24, 2013, at Sony Music Studios in Tokyo, Japan. Just one day earlier, the trio had recorded ten more tracks, which were released under the title Gentle Blues. “What A Wonderful World” was produced, mixed and mastered by legendary sound engineer Tetsuo Hara, who understands better than almost anyone else how to capture the special magic of this trio.
