They were about fifty yards away when the youngest stopped and pointed. "Yo Sarge! Who's that?" There was a humorless chuckle from an older man. "I don't know Private, but I think we're gonna find out." He yelled across the clearing, "Put your hands above your head and walk toward us slowly. Don't do anything dumb 'cause my men can drop you before you can make the trees." They held black devices that didn't have an easily identifiable use. When the older man, 'Sarge', had said the men could drop me they'd pointed the smaller end in my direction. I had to assume they were weapons of some kind, so I followed their instructions carefully.
