Contributor Bio:  Peterson, Barbara Barbara Peterson is currently a teacher-librarian in the Tucson Unified School District. She received her Ph. D. in children's literature and early literacy from The Ohio State University. She has been a Reading Recovery teacher and teacher leader. Her dissertation, Characteristics of Texts That Support Beginning Readers, was a study of how the features of texts influence their readability for new readers. Contributor Bio:  Hogan, Linda Linda Hogan has won an American Book Award, a National Book Critics Circle Award, a Lannan Foundation Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship, and she was a Pulitzer Prize finalist with her novel "Mean Spirit".
