Contributor Bio:  Peterson, Barbara Barbara Peterson is currently a teacher-librarian in the Tucson Unified School District. She received her Ph. D. in children's literature and early literacy from The Ohio State University. She has been a Reading Recovery teacher and teacher leader. Her dissertation, Characteristics of Texts That Support Beginning Readers, was a study of how the features of texts influence their readability for new readers. Contributor Bio:  Hogan, Linda Linda Hogan has won an American Book Award, a National Book Critics Circle Award, a Lannan Foundation Award, and a Guggenheim Fellowship, and she was a Pulitzer Prize finalist with her novel "Mean Spirit". She lives in Idledale, Colorado. Contributor Bio:  Peterson, Brenda Linda Hogan has published several books of poetry, essays, and fiction. She lives in Colorado. Brenda Peterson is the author of three novels, two collections of essays, and numerous articles. She lives in Seattle.
