Publisher Marketing: Magna est veritas et praevalet- "Great is truth, and it prevails. (Bible) The present edition, Volume 11, of Inspiration from Savitri, Truth and Falsehood, Good and Evil, with relevant passages from Savitri, shows us with the illumined clarity of the mantra, Sri Aurobindo's experiences through Aswapathy, the 'Lord of the Horse', Savitri's human father, the 'Lord of Tapasya, the concentrated endeavour that helps us to rise from the mortal to the immortal planes;' as explained in a letter of Sri Aurobindo to a disciple and placed at the beginning of the epic. Sri Aurobindo has hewn a path through the greatest darkness, falsehood and evil to bring to us light. Again, we read in the same letter from Sri Aurobindo that 'Savitri is the Divine Word, daughter of the Sun, goddess of the supreme Truth who comes down and is born to save.' Note that Sri Aurobindo capitalizes Divine Word, Sun and Truth. The last sentence of the letter also tells us something so extraordinary that the mind is reduced to silence and, if one is sincere about Savitri being the supreme path, humility. "Still this is not a mere allegory, the characters are not personaified qualities, but incarnations or emanations of living and conscious Force with whomm we can enter into concrete touch and the take human bodies in order to help man and show him the way from his mortal state to a divine consciousness and immortal life." In passage after passage we learn that even Nature shall not only particpate in the transformation but "Even Nature shall be lit with the Truth-Light" "When superman is born as nature's king His presence shall transfigure matter's world: He shall light up Truth's fire in Nature's night," "And Truth shall be a sun on Nature's head And Truth shall be the guide of Nature's steps And Truth shall gaze out of her nether deeps." As we read these passages let us meditate on Savitri, the Truth, the Way and the Light." Contributor Bio: Aurobindo, Sri Sri Aurobindo has been considered one of the foremost philosophers of the 20th Century, but he was far more than just a philosopher. He was a political activist, a mystic, a spiritual leader and a poet, a yogi and a teacher.
