Rick is no longer a part of Tabby's life, and though she misses him desperately, she stays busy at work and her mind is too occupied to think of him. But after an encounter with a gang member who delivers veiled threats about her relationship with Rick, she's more frightened than ever. Rick finds out about the visit and rushes comfort her. He tells her he wants out of the gang so he can have a life with her. Together, they make a plan for Rick to escape the life he's always known.
