How The Fox Got His Color Bilingual Bhutanese English
Adele Marie Crouch
This delightful little story tells of a young girl's time with her grandmother as she relates a legend of how a mischievous little white fox, with all his grand adventures, became the red fox we all know today. How the Fox got His Color may well become an all-time children's classic and a perfect book for the young reader. English as a second language students will enjoy it as a valuable study tool, as well as those learning a foreign language. Dzongkha or Bhutanese is spoken by about 130,000 people in Bhutan, where it is the national language, and also in Nepal and India. It is a South Tibetic language closely related to Sikkimese, and to a number of other languages spoken in Bhutan, such as Chocangaca, Brokpa, Brokkat and Lakha. Dzongkha is written with the Tibetan alphabet, which was introduced by Thonmi Sambhota, however the main written language in Bhutan is Classical Tibetan, which differs as much from Dzongkha as French from Latin. There is also an official way of writing Dzongkha with the Latin alphabet known as Roman Dzongkha.
