The Heart of it All

At 37 years of age, I thought I had the best of what life had to offer. But after years of pushing myself to win at all costs, I got the wake-up call of a lifetime. I was used to being the leader: The guy with the football scholarship, the rising young professional, the head of a beautiful family. I had it all...or so I thought... After months of chest pain, I found myself lying on a table in the doctor's office. I heard my nurse cuss underneath his breath. He was staring at an angiogram of my heart and it looked deadly. Between the stress tests and the angiogram, my cardiologist revealed that I had two 90 degree bends in my Left Anterior Descending Artery. It was 98% blocked, and most other patients in my condition wouldn't be alive. Within five years, I had two heart surgeries...one physical and one spiritual. I am a miracle.
