THIS EROTIC BURN A Prose Poem I am fire fanning the flames of crucified flesh unduly forsaken. I am the hot, red, hallowed blood that burns through guiltless veins. I am the sacred night which burns for sacred curves; ignited by a word, or smile, or shape. I am as I am, woven into the fabric of a soul's birthright for a fiery star of a universal midnight. These fiery dreams and a hot melded steely heart with flowered echoes into the darkness I am lured by the sweetness of scent. I am the poet who scribes these words of nudity and feel the burn of obscurity and ripen yet for fecundity. Why a focus on each man and woman's soul through a fleshly means? In her voice lay life, or is it ruin, as I burn like coals of a flaming heart, sacred in the debauchery of the moment. I burn, and I yearn to burn, for a simple taste of love unearned. And, yet, I have given of my soul that thirsts for this erotic burn where the flames never die, for is it death I cry, or for a sacred moment I lie, in this cradle of our vexing flesh. In touching the Sun, of the mystical heart, burning soul, and brackish flesh...oh, this erotic burn! ABOUT JOHN EVANS John G Evans writes from his soul. Evans has attended the University of the Incarnate Word, and Southern New Hampshire University. He lives with his wife Judy and their Shih Tzu named Paavo.
