An MFA Thesis that needed to be published. Returning: A Thesis is an honest and raw imagistic exploration of life from a 1950s childhood spent around the world, to Woodstock, Vietnam and back again. The poems are revealing and prescient and the essay is an informed and insightful lens into the challenges of writing authentically, with conviction about the war that tore the United States to pieces, and many of those that served there. Submitted to the Faculty and Academic Board of the Master of Fine Arts Writing Program, Pacific University, Forest Grove, Oregon.
