Seth Cost is a brilliant young man; great at improvising, but terrible at thinking ahead. He has lived his entire life in the floating city of Swevender. Never has he seen what really lies beneath the cloud cradling his home. Never did he realise that the common practise of 'water wielding' is only a small fraction of what his world has to offer. But before he even has a chance to explore it, his world is destroyed. Seth becomes stranded on the surface of the barren planet - alone. Only the strongest survive, and he quickly learns he needs to become even stronger if he ever wants to see Swevender again. Evodents, Clase, The Wandering Cross, Element Binding - these are all terms Seth learns during his odyssey, opening his eyes to how little he knows about his own universe. As his impetuosity throws him from one adventure to the next, our hero struggles to find a way back home.
