Clive Thurston is living a lie. Having claimed a dying playwright's masterwork as his own, he is hailed as a brilliant, new author. Thurston is now living the good life in Hollywood. He has a house in the country, a manservant, a beautiful fiancÉe....then one night he meets Eve. Eve isn't beautiful at all, but she's got a way about her. Thurston is captivated, and in no time, he becomes obsessed. But as everybody knows, Eve is a prostitute, and his reputation around town begins to suffer. His fiancÉe has been patient, but she can take no more. Thurston is drinking too much, and making bad decisions.
