Anoushka Shankar's new album "Reflections" focuses on songs that mark the decisive career path of her career: "Traces of you" and "The Sun will not set" with her half-sister Norah Jones, "Panchem se gara" with her revered father Sitar legend Ravi Shankar, "Land of Gold" with Alev Lenz are just some of the highlights of the selection made by Anoushka. Before embarking on an extended international tour in 2019, the "world's best female sitar player" (Deutschlandfunk) had a heartfelt concern to look inward and capture personal milestones in her artistic development on an album. The joy and fulfillment she feels when making music with others is noticeable in every single track. Anoushka Shankar will be accompanied by flamenco stars Pedro Ricardo Miño and Duquende, composer and producer DJ Karsh Kale, singer Noa Lembersky and folk maestro Barry Phillips. Shankar, who is deeply committed to global human rights, sees her music as a means of expression in the struggle for compassion: "Music is a connecting, communicative medium, helping to grow empathy in the hearts of people."
