Shostakovich / Barber

Symphony No.5/adagio for Strings Shostakovich / Barber

Winner of the 2018 Grammy Awards in the categories of "Best Orchestral Performance" and "Best Engineered Classical Album".

Reference Recordings' Pittsburgh Live! series has been a huge success since its inception. Two titles have received Grammy nominations for Best Orchestral Performance (Dvořák/Janaček and Bruckner 4). With Shostakovich's Fifth Symphony and Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings, Manfred Honeck and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra present another audiophile recording.

The hybrid multi-channel SACD comes with a comprehensive booklet in which Manfred Honeck provides insights into the genesis of the works and describes his approach as a conductor. This FRESH! release was recorded and mastered by the Soundmirror team in Boston.

We recommend the use of "L'Art du Son" CD/DVD conditioner for even more sonic improvement.
