On a Distant Shore

Leon Russell

In 2016-the year he left us-Leon spent a great deal of time touring and also preparing this final studio album, which arrives 10 months after his passing. He revisits three of his classics and introduces new takes on pop and jazz standards. Strings, pedal steel and horns surround his unmistakable voice and piano work on "This Masquerade," "Black and Blue," "Easy to Love," "A Song for You," "On the Waterfront," "Where Do We Go from Here," "Hummingbird" and more. You'll know when you hear it why this was Leon's favorite record he ever made! Palmetto.
