From the razor-sharp energy of “Shrimp Dance” to the explosive power of “Kuro to Shiro,” the soulful swagger of “Walk Tall,” the moody depths of “Cat,” and the smooth, mellow beauty of “Romance”—every track pulses with a vibrant groove. This is not just an album; it’s a rare gem, a miraculous session where everything came together perfectly.

Trombonist Hiroshi Suzuki was a driving force in Japan’s jazz scene, seamlessly navigating styles from modern jazz to free jazz. In 1971, he moved to the United States, but during a brief return to Japan four years later, he reunited with former bandmates from the legendary Freedom Unity—Akira Ishikawa, Takeru Muraoka, Hiromasa Suzuki, and Kunimitsu Inaba—to record this extraordinary album.
