Mazal Tov!

Mazal Tov!Literally means "good luck" and it's the expression commonly used in joyful occasions. However, its meaning goes much further than that. The word mazal means a "drip from above" and it is the term used in Jewish mysticism to describe the root of the soul. Mysticism explains that only a spark of our soul actually lives in the body. The main part of the soul, our mazal, stays in the heavens shining upon us from a distance. Usually during moments of great celebration such as a wedding, we receive an extra flow of energy and vitality coming from our soul straight from heaven. It is precisely during these precious moments of happiness that the soul achieves its perfect harmony and is able to reach its greatest potential, thus allowing for a spiritual growth. After the chuppah everybody shouts Mazal Tov, hoping that this marriage was truly made in heaven.
